My Skincare Routine

current clean favorites, seasonal changes + new techniques

I’m really into my current skincare routines (AM and PM) and have found some new products and techniques that I've been trying out and loving. I will share on IG, but thought it always was helpful to have a blog to come back to with all the details, links, etc. I’m going to start with a disclaimer: I do not believe in buying a bunch of new products in one go. I think it’s really important to gather as much info as you can, let it sink in, and wait for the hit to act. I love to read and watch other people's skincare routines because it helps me learn and make decisions on my own about what I think will work for me. It’s so easy to get caught up in the idea that a new product is going to change everything. I do believe some can help a lot, but there are no miracle products. As annoying as this sounds, beauty comes from within, and more importantly, it comes from truly loving yourself and being confident in your own skin. Ok, I’m stepping off my soapbox now. Let's get into it.

AM Routine

The very first thing I do when I wake up is splash my face with cold water a couple of times, then spray this Mario Badescu Facial Spray and use 2 pumps of my favorite Osea Undaria Body Oil all over my face and hands. This is more of an aromatherapy thing for me. The smell of the oil and facial spray helps me wake up and start my day. I get started making my lemon ginger water, do a meditation, and start my journaling session if I’m lucky and Jackson isn't up yet. I don’t finish up my skincare until I start getting ready for work or to leave the house for the day.

Next, I oil cleanse in the AM with my Osea or a blend I make myself with this Organic Extra Virgin Sesame oil, Jojoba, and Frankincense essential oil. I put 2 pumps all over my face and then use a warm washcloth to  wipe off the excess. I use the CocoKind Ceramide Barrier Serum all over my face and neck and wait for it to dry a little. Then I put a thin layer of Cocokind’s Texture Smoothing Cream. At this point, I will focus on my hair to let that all soak in. Then I finish off the brand’s sunscreen, which I’ve been using for over a year now and LOVE. It’s lightweight, mineral based, and doesn't leave a white cast on my skin. Depending on the day, I either go out like that or do my makeup routine which I will talk about in another blog post.

PM Routine

I started using Cocokind’s Oil to Milk cleanser and it’s a new favorite. I love the texture, smell, and how gentle it is. I don’t like washing my face a lot so this cleanser is a great compliment to my morning oil cleanse. I spray my face with the Mario B spray, wait a few seconds, and then go in with Cocokind’s Turmeric Illumination Solution. I use a few drops and spread all over my face and neck. My skin is sensitive so I only use this at night, 3-4 times a week. Then I use a few drops of the Ceramide Barrier Serum. I use this every day, two times a day. Depending on my skin that night, I do either Texture Smoothing Cream and Sunday Riley’s Juno oil for normal to dry skin or if I need more, I skip the Texture Smoothing Cream and do Honey Girl Organics Night Cream and Juno on top of that. I’ll add a slick of Cocokind’s MyMatcha Moisture stick to my under eyes and 11s. Most nights I hop into bed and do my nightly Gua Sha routine based on my needs. I follow @wildling_beauty they have the best tutorials and I’ve been dying to try their empress stone but because it’s a little pricey, use this dupe (under $10!) I found on Amazon for now. I work on my forehead lines, double chin area, and detoxification with downward strokes. I also love to put pressure on my third eye point. Basically, I do what feels good. It’s so relaxing and a great way to ground and settle before bed.

So that’s my routine for the moment. I'm really loving it and seeing a lot of improvements in my skin tone and evenness, two areas I’ve been working on. Let me know if you try any of the products I mentioned or if you have products you love and think I should know about.

Lots of love,

jodi xx
